The Typefaces project —
For the designer in every child and the child in every designer.
Created by Scott Lambert, design director at The Partners (and new MadebyFolk contributor), The Typefaces project is a creative and playful exploration of type. Scott's new print for us features several of the "faces" and is available now here.
The Typefaces have been exhibited in London and Singapore and are for the designer in every child and the child in every designer. Available as screen prints, t-shirts and also all bound together in a stylish book.
Inspired by letterpress printing and childlike observations – The Typefaces are simply faces in type. The idea invites your participation as the faces are mostly ‘found’ within the negative space which in turn creates an emotional connection.
Beyond that, some have said the concept encourages us all to look at familiar things in new ways, others have said it encourages us to look for Polar Bears!
"I’ve been sent pictures from all around the world, and the idea has received some kind words from my peers, including Dalton Maag and AIGA, but my favourite review came from my daughter who said “Daddy, I love your facebook.”
